I used to be a very devout Christian and I am no longer anymore. I have read the Bible completely many times as well as the Quran.

In the Bible you have the same body on earth as in heaven. Paul calls Jesus the "firstfruit" of those risen from the grave, (in old Israel, the first fruits were those that got ripe weeks earlier than the rest of the fruit, ready to be picked, Jesus is said to be the first of those to come back to life and we will be the same).

Jesus showed his body to his disciples and still had the scars where he was crucified.This would mean you look the same even with all your subhumanity.

There will be no new heaven and Earth though. It's a pipe dream, it won't happen. Also the human body is a disgusting organic self driving machine anyway, it's not something holy enough to enter into a place that is only meant for moral perfection.

You are programmed to want to enjoy life, and not die, and that's why heaven is appealing to you. Not because it actually exists, but because by nature you WANT it to exist, and only the promise of this place allows you to successfully follow strange rules and morals that you wouldn't normally adhere to (loving your neighbor as yourself, loving your enemies, striving to be perfect etc.)

I came to the rational conclusion that God likely does not exist. For example I thought about it theologically. Is God a spirit? So he isn't composed of atoms? How then can he move anything? And if he isn't composed of atoms how can I look at him (since my eyes work by reflecting light off an object, just like radar reflects waves off an object to see it).

If I am just a spirit, how could I live in heaven as just a spirit? I don't see how I could see, not having eyes. Or how big would I be as a spirit? Since I'm not material (and only material things have size) how could I be a specific size? What is preventing the spirit version of me from being the size of the universe?

And if I am a spirit, I don't see why I'm retained in this human body. I should just be able to leave right now (and if I could, I would like to).

Didn't know that you were a Christian.
I'm Protestant. I highly think God will eliminate the entire act of sex in heaven because logically there is no need for it. The only point of sex was for procreation, not for enjoyment. God is the one who creates souls himself. Sex was only meant to be in the confines of marriage, that's only when it is good and holy. I don't think we all will be 8 PSL or anything. But definitely not ugly. Hope God transforms into the best versions of ourselves or at least makes everyone above average in terms of looks. If neither of these, then i hope we all don't face looks-wise discrimination, like we do every day by foids and this shallow world. I also highly believe that anyone who died as an old person will be brought back to his look that he had in his prime years. Ik that the angels in heaven don't have a gender, but they appear as men.

Used to be christian as well. I realized that there are so many religions that contradict each other, and if God actually existed. He would make it obvious what religion is the real one, but this hasnt happened and people on Earth follow 100s of different religions, that all people think their religion is the correct one.
