If free will exists then how can people say that God has a plan for you because if free will is real hat means disasters happen, kids die, innocent people suffer and still people claim God has a plan. What about the homeless people who die just trying to survive and or addicts who struggle every day. Why didn’t God have a plan for them?

The Catholic Church teaches that God’s mercy is greater than death. Those who die in disasters are not abandoned by Him. Rather, He desires all people to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4).


Their suffering and death are not meaningless because through Christ’s death and resurrection, even tragedy can become a path to eternal life. The Church entrusts these souls to God’s mercy and is confident that He can bring them into eternal joy, where every tear will be wiped away (Revelation 21:4).
