Do you fast during the lent season. My grandmother was very orthodox and religious. She used to fast from sunrise to sunset like how muslims do during ramadan strictly avoided meat, dairy, eggs, wine for 40 days until Easter. This was apparently commonly followed in her family and she has been doing it since she was child. She would only eat meat on easter after the lent. I dont think this is very common these days. I dont see Christians fasting on Ash Wednesday and good Friday let alone the entire lent season. @PrinceLuenLeoncur

In some denominations of catholic and orthodox churches it is but for Protestants/Christians it is not mandatory. Also yes it is yearly.

Kinda similar but they are done for two different things. Also ramadan is more common and more strictly followed

Practicing Catholics and orthodox do it.

Protestants are split some do lent if high Protestant like Anglican and Lutheran. It that’s about it

It in the west I don’t think many do it because western Christian’s are shit ultra Luke warm and tbh besides from claiming the faith they don’t follow it in any way

What kind of fast like a complete fast from sunrise to sunset or just abstinence from alcohol and meat

is lent just ramadan for christian people

pretty much. you can draw parallels between almost all major traditions and symbolism between abrahamic religions.

and those, including judaism as the oldest one, are mostly just adapted and updated mashups of previous beliefs and traditions

It’s a vegan fast including no alchahol

You break it at 3Pm everyday but you can easy any time after that as long a sits before 12am but it has to be one normal sized meal and then your allowed a snack. That’s it

It’s different than Ramadan. Islam copied Ramadan from their Pagans and the Christian’s Mohammed met. Ramadan is 1 month

Lent is 40 days

Muslims do their Ramadan fast just because

Christian’s do lent to represent the 40
Days Jesus spent in the desert. It’s also in preparation for Passover where we fast again but this is mainly eastern Christian’s who do this fast as Roman Catholics are quite secular now.

Protestants don’t do any fasts unless Anglican and Lutheran and they don’t do it as long as the rest of us but at least they do it unlike evangelicals which is a false religion and a stupid cult.
