I'll have to disagree on this one simply due to the annoying sides a lot of people get from sildenafil compared to tada even if only for sex in my experience tadalafil outperforms because you're always kinda ready instead of being restricted to a specific window, and besides the sex it's outperforms in every metric

Regardless, the only justification is if you want to be "always kinda ready" if you're using PDE5 inhibitors for sex ONLY.

Those side effects are not unique to sildenafil over tadalafil. I don't know how they would be given they're both PDE5 inhibitors.

We can take a look at the molecules of tadalafil (left) and sildenafil (right), they both are obviously very comparable in terms of their molecular structure, except tadalafil is lipophilic so it takes longer to break down compared to that of sildenafil, because sildenafil is hydrophilic => processed by the body quicker.
Therefore you can discern that any side effects that you might think are unique to viagra, stem from the acute increase in PDE5 inhibition consequent to its use, meaning you are taking too high a dose and that if you take too high a dose of cialis, the same issue would occur.

Exactly, but if used solely for sex I would assume you wouldn't take a dose higher than its equivalency to sildenafil. IIRC the sides are more severe because of the speed of the PDE5 inhibition onset on sildenafil compared to tada. Sildenafil Tmax is 2h and starts declining, so it makes sense the sides would be much more noticeable and annoying compared to tada where, again, this is an assumption on my part, the body would have more time to adjust to the PDE5 inhibition.

Of course, when it comes to sex there's also the subject of everyone's needs being different. A lot of people even use tadalafil simply to avoid the sides and it feels 'cleaner' to them (including me), and even take a dose an entire day before sex

Huh? Not sure why you're taking it maliciously, especially cause my intent was the complete opposite, lol.
No goalpost shift on my end, I agree with your simple approach to the initial question (mechanistic) and my point was simply that IRL, tada's slower onset will most of the time lead to fewer sides for many people, which is why some people (including me as mentioned) prefer it even for only sex. Bottom line is, I was just adding my practical view to the mechanistic one you initially posted
