PART 01
CLAVICULAR Character Analysis
THE ID, EGO & SUPEREGO

Freud's psychoanalysis suggests that our mind is divided into three parts:
Id: The part that acts on impulse, without thinking about the consequences.
Ego: The part that tries to mediate between what we want to do and what is acceptable in reality.
Superego: Our moral conscience, which makes us feel guilty or ashamed when we violate our own values or social norms.

Clavicular's id is seen in his obsessive pursuit of physical perfection. He chases testosterone optimization, jawline symmetry, skin purity, and bone structure superiority with primal urgency. His transformation montages are ritualistic and intense, depicting a man ruled by desire. These aren't merely self-improvement videos; they're acts of symbolic violence against his original, pre blackpilled self.

The ego is always present, Clacicular chases physical perfection, and does anything he possibly can to reach it. Just by looking at his videos, the number of methods and techniques he attempts for just a mm of change in his bone structure illustrates the husk of a broken man he has become, one fueled by a lust for perfection.

PART 02
CLAVICULAR Character Analysis
THE ID, EGO & SUPEREGO

The superego is shown in lots of Clavicular's actions, though sometimes it's clear that he lacks it. Even when his racist remarks come out, he chooses not to apologise, instead doubling down on it.
Clavicular's backstory plays a large part in his story. As a prepubescent boy, he was constantly bullied for his looks and neurodivergence, creating astronomical amounts of insecurity in him. This shows how he carries, in a way, the weight of distorted and suffocating ethics, Freud's psychoanalysis also emphasizes that what we experience in childhood has a great impact on our adult life. For Clav, this is clear in the way he deals with the trauma of being bullied for his looks.

These actions left him with deep scars and insecurity, and these emotional wounds manifest themselves in actions he doesn't understand.

To deal with everything he feels, Clav uses several defence mechanisms, which are ways of avoiding dealing with emotional pain, an example is that to deal with disagreement upon his methods, he insists that the disagreement is ‘cope’.

PART 03
CLAVICULAR Character Analysis
SELF-DESTRUCTION (THANATOS)

Freud proposes the existence of a death drive (Thanatos), an unconscious impulse that leads to self destruction and repetition of harmful patterns. Clav exhibits self destructive behaviours, such as frequent betrayals, use of bonesmashing, and sabotage of close relationships. The rituals of transformation often border on the masochistic: harsh lighting, fasting, isolation, endless criticism of one's flaws.

In Clavicular's character, we witness a slow obliteration of identity, replaced by an increasingly alien, aestheticized figure. The pursuit of the ideal facial structure becomes a metaphor for death: death of softness, of childhood, of failure, of the soul.

PART 04
CLAVICULAR Character Analysis
ESCAPISM

Clavicular clearly tries to escape his identity, he sees his old, worse looking self as inferior, and does anything to escape his reality. By framing his self hate and anxiety as motivation to become better, he elevates his suffering, it becomes necessary for his journey. This is classic escapist compensation: when life feels meaningless, invent meaning.

PART 05
CLAVICULAR Character Analysis
HEDONISM

Hedonism, in general, is the view that pleasure is the main good to be sought in life. At first glance, Clavicular seems anti-hedonistic: his life is discipline, fasting, punishment. But deep down, this is psychological hedonism, the pursuit of an ideal self that will finally bring pleasure. Every surgery, every improvement is aimed at a distant, imagined climax: peace in perfection.

PART 06
CLAVICULAR Character Analysis
CONCLUSION

Clavicular is not a parody of lookism, he is its prophet, and most of all: it's victim. He does absolutely everything he can to ascend, all just to be treated the same as others, he doesn't see looksmaxxing as self-improvement, he sees it as necessary to live in this world. His videos are not tutorials, they're confessions, of a broken man who will do anything to be loved.
