I had a same situation happen to me but way more brutal.
So me at the gym was getting iois from this lmtb at the gym she was totally my type like stacy for me, this endured for a couple of gym sessions. One day im in discord with friends and one of them says to me "isnt this the girl you like at the gym" and he show me a picture of her that was uploaded on the gyms instagram account (if u tag them they will upload you) and i was like so i started follow in her... wrong choice, the next day i enter her profile and my follow solicitude was REJECTED
After this everytime i saw her i would act like i was autistic or sum, even worse she now has a bf (im taller than him but his physique is mazing and he has a great face) and he probably know im the weirdo who tried following his girl
