Okay so I’m this thread I will cover talking to people and not just girls that is for a different thread
This is for the people who shit their pants in small talk
I used to be the same but through hours of videos and books on communication I’ll make it simple and easy to understand
1. Body language
This is very self explanatory but it might be the most important for good small talk
Having open and receptive body language is super important and if you look like you are going to ball up into a fetal position and cry no one will talk to you
Have good posture with open arms and use your hands when speaking and have natural eye contact (don’t rape their souls and stare directly in their eyes)
2. Listening to the other person and being genuinely interested
in the book how to win friends and influence people this is what the author specifically asks the reader to bring along with them
If you would get out your head and thinking about how fucking boneless you are and just listened and dominoed off the convo from there you wouldn’t need this thread.
Everyone is only worried about themselves and being seen and if you get someone to believe you are GENUINELY interested in their life it will work wonders.
3. The FORD method
if you truley have no other way to get through a conversation or start one the FORD method may help
I have used this mainly on people older because no teenager really talks like this but FORD stands for Family, Occupation, Relationships, Dreams
If you have no other way to start a convo ask about one of these four things mostly save dream if you somewhat know the person and you want to bring the convo to a deeper level.
I found asking about relationships not just sexual but friendships and how someone else is doing is a really good way to smart good small talk because most the time they just start talking about themselves.
Conclusion
I’ll conclude this by saying the most important thing about communication is turning off inner dialogue and being completely present and repeating what someone else is saying can also help with this.
