Complete bullshitter at work told me he had a new job for me

So we get free tickets to our work (visitor attraction), and he asked me if I needed mine. I said I didn't, so I said he could have them

Later, he told me he could get me a job at his main workplace (he works 0 hour contract where I work, and allegedly works elsewhere... Well, he allegedly has like 5-6 jobs or side businesses), since he apparently has been working there for like 16 years

He was telling me about how easy it would be (security, like my current job) and how it was higher pay and you just get to walk around all day. This was last week. He then said he would text me details on Monday (yesterday). Someone else asked me about it, and then spoke to him, and he changed it from "will get you a job" to "I was saying there might be jobs and I would let him know"

Well, he didn't text me anything jfl. I might text him in a couple of days but I guarantee it was bullshit. I mean, I wasn't even sure I'd want it anyway cos it had some 7 AM starts, but I would probably have done it considering I'm getting barely any shifts at my current job, and he was saying he would tell me all the interview questions and stuff

people working these kinds of jobs are usually completely disorganized schizos. I wouldn't take seriously any advice from anyone who makes less than 65k a year(with a standard 40 hour work week of non-back breaking labor) unless that advice is "don't do what I did, finish college".

Some other guy at work had a problem with his car, and this guy recommends a mechanic to him (a friend of his). This mechanic apparently tried claiming there was something else broken that wasn't, and then tried charging him like 300 quid for the original problem. Bloke went elsewhere and got it fixed for like 75 quid

So this guy I originally spoke about (also apparently sells cars) is a grifter jfl. Probably sold the tickets I gave him

you've just got to treat these guys the way the rest of society treats them- that is to say, with a great deal of contempt. Some people spend their entire lives trying to scam and get rich quick, they never change. Any time I have a coworker telling me some harebrained scheme I just nod my head and smile until they go away.
