they're better than glasses for obvious reasons but god this shit still sucks. trying to put them on your eyes is annoying as fuck + chances it'll give you brutal forehead lines long term because you have to raise your eyebrows for 15 minutes trying to fiddle them in everyday. they also put somewhat of a strain on your eyes.

i can't believe 99 % of people are chosing between glasses or contacts in the 21st century when you can get your eyes lasered in literal seconds and boom - you can see clearly again.

the glasses/contacts industry should be destroyed. they're milking an outdated product.

that's not true. getting a 10 second laser surgery is safer than putting fuck ass lenses in your eyes everyday for years and years.

Based on their review of several large studies, ophthalmologist William Mathers, MD, and colleagues concluded that daily contact lens wearers have about a one in 100 chance of developing a serious lens-related eye infection over 30 years of use, and a one in 2,000 chance of suffering significant vision loss as a result.

The researchers calculated the risk of significant vision loss due to LASIK surgery to be closer to one in 10,000 cases. They reported their findings in a letter published this month in the journal Archives of Ophthalmology

either way it seems absolutely insane to me to be doing this for years or even decades instead of getting one surgery and that's it

Severe dry eyes is still a risk, and once that happens it’s over, living hell

Why do you need 15 minutes to put them into your eyes? It takes me probably less than a minute and I am raising my eyebrows for maybe 10 seconds during that time, if that.

Contact lenses are still annoying, because you should not swim or shower while wearing them or you risk infections. Also when you are in a country with bad hygienic standards, operating with contact lenses can be dangerous if your hands are not clean. And if the tap water is contaminated then washing your hands will also not clean them.
