I tire of this stupid obsession with the coronavirus death toll.
Day after day, papier-mâché people share the latest figures and fret, while death's hand advances without remorse.

What arrogance. What does it mean to know? And why are you even counting?

Ten thousand dead. Twenty thousand. A hundred. A million.

And?

So?

It doesn't fucking MATTER!
In fact, it's my most fervent hope that the lives claimed swell a THOUSANDFOLD!
Humans are a blight upon this planet, and whatever can cull our numbers is not only welcome, but LONG OVERDUE.

The next heartbreaking story of human designs reduced to rot cannot come soon enough.
May the days ahead be cruel and crushing, packed full with the death of innocents and innocence.
The second even more than the first fulfills my dark thirst.
