Things you recieve are either recessive or dominant. In case of a blond hair its aa, meaning you get 2 recessive alleles from both parents.
So if one parent is fully blonde (aa), and the other is brunette but has one recessive allele (Aa), and they had 4 children, it would look like this:
Aa, Aa, aa, aa
So 2 children would have blonde hair and 2 would have brown one.
If both parents were blonde, aka both would be aa, all 4 children would be blonde.
If one was blonde and another had 2 dominant alleles (AA), all children would have brown hair.
You learn this in like first grade of hs, look in
