My cousins hair used to be so fucking good in high school when we went together. We graduated 2011 (yes we're old). And looking at pics just 2 years after HS he was already having massive balding issues I'm talking really bad. My hairline receded by the time I turned 18 (to a completely shitty uneven hairline) but by then it just almost completely stopped receding.
My cousin is married and has gotten a hair transplant a couple years ago, he's definitely not doing bad, but his hair is obviously nothing close to what it used to be, but man in his case he should've used fin maybe even at 18.
My hairline disappeared from 16-18 yo. Though it was always not masculine looking at least it was symmetrical. That would've been stupid to take fin at that age but maybe just maybe (sounds like cope) zinc was the reason for my hair deteriorating, as supplementing zinc for a few days has diminished my few months old cracked knuckles.
My cousin's dad (not related to my side) was completely bald so that's obviously why he became bald. On my side of the family everyone even my great great grandfather on my moms side that I met had hair even when he was mid 90s.
I really hope fin / zinc brings back some density for me and maybe improves my texture so I don't have to wear a hair system for the rest of my life and I can just do forehead lowering and hair transplant surgeries with good enough texture to style it.
