It's more speculation than gambling. But you can make the same assumption for tech stocks in the early 00's - there was no guarantee back then that the internet and tech in general would take off this much. Buying back then was speculation and it paid off.

Crypto may or may not revolutionise the world but I'm going to at least try and get involved. Not going to make the mistake our parents made which was to just ignore an emerging market or to not invest into anything at all.
