Cybersecurity is a very broad field. A sub-field in Cyber security is Reverse Engineering. I think it's worth dedicating 10,000 hours to that. I'm currently doing this too. So many ways to make money with good reverse engineering skill. But requires significant time input.

But to answer your question, study Computer Science instead if you are gonna go to college. Most cyber security degrees suck
