Theres many stories on managers/business owners who have just read the 48 laws of power [48 laws of cope] and thinking if they are ruthless and viscious and dark triad-esque they can beat the competition and enjoy a life of luxury.
COPE.
This way of thinking is cringe and will get you nowhere. The cope stems from the fact that everyone in the top 100 richest men alive has somewhere in there career you can point to and say they were viscous. Firing their best friend/co-founder, selling baby formula to 3rd worlders that isn't nutritious enough for human development, selling agent orange to the US military without telling them how harmful it is to the human body, etc
But these aren't people who were going out of their way to be dark triad to win, they are simply people who have it in them to not let human empathy hold them back, it's much more passive. 99% of these people, if it came down with it, would not pick the dark triad option just incase the past comes back to bite them.
