Days are the only corrects measurement of time. Actually, a proper calendar would be:
1st day, 1st night, 2nd day, 2nd night, 3rd day, 3rd night...

None of that hours and minutes stuff matters.

Also there are supposed to be 10 months only. The Romans originally used a 10-month calendar, but Julius and Augustus Caesar each wanted months named after them, so they added July and August.
