Yes it builds muscle but in the wrong places. It makes your lower torso larger hence you will need more work on the upper body. Heavy compounds are only done for ego if I am being honest. Just be a power lifter bro!

In my opinion in order to get a good physique you only need body weight exercises. Bodyweight squats are underrated as doing 100 of them will build more muscle and endurance than you think. Tbf squats are a huge advantage to body weight based training but doesn't mean as a whole its as optimal.

Women love a v shaped body not some gymcel.

Martin Berkhan deadlifts 600 for reps and credits the lift for building his physique.

lol @ equating powerlifting, a coping hobby for fat people that attracts mentally ill losers, to people who do one of the best basic exercises. you can DL and not be a fat slob.

He has top 1% genetics, for the average person lifting heavy and getting injured is retarded. You also have to outlift your dead lift gains.

Pull-ups > deadlifts

Both can be done, but for the average person I just don't see deadlifts being optimal.
Deadlifts are also very good for glutes and hamstrings, glutes are srsly important to bitches

Which is my exactly my point.
Deadlifts will also contribute heavily to good posture, which is arguably the most important aspect of aesthetics.

they don't even work the same muscle groups
Never said they did. Simply don't like doing deadlifts whereas I enjoy doing pull-ups.

I shouldn't have made this thread tbh rather just say the benefits of other exercises.

I am sure dead lifts work great for a lot of people. For me I am naturally low t and the injuries I get from lifting a lot of weight with compounds is tricky therefore I prefer higher reps and bodyweight exercises in general. Its all personal preference.

seems legit
