ADD and ADHD Cels GTFO
For those unaware, in the fourth month of my accutane course I got diagnosed with Lichen Planopilaris. Triggered by accutane, this is a progressive, giga-rare scarring alopecia in which the hair follicle openings get scarred, causing hair regrowth to stop. It is like alopecia areata but worse.
Anyways, I've been with this disease for 4 months about. The past few weeks I've losing about 500+ hairs a day. It's hard to believe but it's true. It's difficult to relate to anyone on this forum which is why I've transitioned most of my time to a Facebook group designated to Lichen Planopilaris. They are helping me out.
Currently I'm on 15mg tofacitinib and 40mg zyrtec every day. It hasn't helped much which is why last week I ordered a drug called Otezla from India. This is the final chance, the last opportunity I have to stop this disease. The side effects are brutal I've heard. It also costs $4k a month in the USA prescribed. Anyways, if this drug doesn't work, my mental health will plummet. The only reason I'm still alive is because I keep thinking to myself that Otezla will stop this disease, but in the back of my mind I know it likely won't work due to how unlucky I am.
There are only limited studies on this drug for Lichen Planopilaris, and half of the patients in these studies had to stop it due to horrible side effects of the drug. But all of them had improvement. I guess I have to decide between keeping my hair, or keeping my health.
Thoughts?
Bonus info- My entire body hair is shedding as well. My pubic hair density is down 70% or so. Absurd.
