Debating getting MARPE (my palate is actually narrow) will it cook me?

My palate is 27mm and I got approved for MARPE with Dr Newaz but I’m incredibly hesitant. I’m only 18 so I’m not tripping too hard about it failing, but I’m scared of ruining my face because most people I see doing MARPE look absolutely fucked and I can’t tell if it’s because they were ugly from the start or if MARPE just descends everyone. I don’t really have horrible breathing problems but my bite is fucked so I will need to do some sort of orthodontic intervention regardless. Any thoughts?

What were you hoping it would change? It could make your cheekbones a bit wider which would help, and your face is maybe slightly narrow so it might not hurt to add some width. Either way holy shit that's a very narrow palate. I'd honestly do it even if it descends me cause it must be hard simply to function with so little space. Do you have health issues like breathing problems and/or sleep apnea?
