I think I have somewhat of a deep bite.
would this type of treatment be a good looksmax due to pushing the teeth upward? (hence improving the appearance of the maxilla)
I feel like it would be extremely painful but very rewarding with regards to aesthetic improvement as well as functionality

I still can't believe people on this site think teeth are the problem. If you have a deep bite your maxilla is severely recessed (down and back).

my maxilla is probably recessed but certainly not severely recessed.
i don't know if I even have a deep bite or just an overbite, I don't understand malocclusion very well as yet

How is the maxilla recessed if the upper teeth go way over the lower teeth.

Overbite = underdeveloped lower jaw in comparison to the maxilla

it could make sense that the maxilla growes more downards to compensate but makes no sense to me that its would be pushed back aswell.

Deep and overbite are terms for the same thing afaik. Overjet is when the front teeth flare out.

doesn't make sense either because my chin is big and my lower jaw isn't bad by any means.

I definitely have an overjet, i can tell my teeth flare out just by analysing but when I bite down, my lips look weird and I feel a degree of physical discomfort

overbite = recessed mandible as far as ive learned. So a guys protruding chin with an overbite could make up for the recessed mandible.

An orthodontist can tell you your bite if you cant tell yourself and how many mms if you have an overbite.

the mandible is recessed because the upper jaw is recessed. You don't have an overbite because your jaw is too forward grown, because if that was the case you wouldn't have an overbite

Interesting take, so that would mean the classic fix people usually do with bsso is cope because of recessed maxilla?
