here i decimate anyone low iq enough to have supported or allowed the thought of a weapons ban to cross their mind
first of all, it's basic technology. you can make guns from scratch. a total ban would never be logistically feasible, especially with manufacturing technology like 3d printers and mini cnc lathes.
the "success" of uk, canadian, french, and australian gun regulations is due entirely to the fact that their gun ownership and crime rates were already low, and they had almost no black people, which are the leading cause of gun crimes. even so these laws failed to stem violent crime, in fact it only forced more draconian measures to the point of parody like kitchen knife bans. meanwhile browns in uk swing cleavers in the streets daily, and 80 people are smashed into the wheelwell of a semi in france. in lieu of guns, that are ample other means to commit violence.
mass shootings are not statistically significant despite that fact that black gang violence is lumped in with mass shootings for manipulation purposes. firearm suicides are more common.
gun laws are an illusion of safety. their impact on gun violence is negligible, since criminals do not care about gun laws, can self produce or traffic arms easily, and most guns used in gun crimes are not legally procured, gun laws only serve to neuter the public's ability to deter bad actors.
the state is not omnipotent, and this is a good thing. by removing your ability to effectively defend yourself, it encouraging criminality while forcing the public to demand greater more expansive law enforcement and surveillance. the dysgenic effect this would have on society cannot be overstated. rather than rewarding and selecting for self reliance, such laws would engineer a breed of hapless defenseless cowards incapable of autonomy. guns are eugenic.
tldr: guns are cool, i'm fine with a bunch of people getting killed as long as i can keep playing with my guns
