This upcoming school season I will be given to options do a social science degree at a top 100 school worldwide and also top 15 in the UK or do a CS degree at a 50th placed university in the UK

Which is better for career prospects?

50th in the uk is awful, do social science. is it just a degree where you study all of the social sciences together?

thats literally a better degree than cs when you dont account for uni status. combined with the fact that you can do that at a better uni than the cs degree, social science is obvious choice

you will not land a finance job with a social science degree. is that really what you are implying?

This. Only do cs if you’re very high iq
Law is high iq as well but not for aspies. So to be even more specific: for CS be high iq and little aspie.

I dont think so i still think CS is more flexible than politics + econ.

Let’s be honest. You can’t study law if you’re below 6’5 and HTN because you wouldn’t be able to finish your studies form all the moggings and ptsd you’ve received.

social science, lighter courseload plus higher status friends for the most part, better for job as well (do consulting for some shit), cs you will get outworked by ethnics and it's a dying degree anyway

Your face will get you higher status friends and you shouldn’t do those type of degrees if you’re below 6’4/6’5and HTN because you’ll get brutally mogged by those “ higher status” people

Sure a lot of traditional jobs within software are gonna go, but they might just be replaced by emerging new type of jobs in the computer world. Only time will tell

Wrong. University brand is all the matters. People doing Geography at LSE are far more likely to break into high finance than those doing econ at some shit uni

Exactly, universities are most beneficial because of the networking opportunities. That's why people pay big money to go to household names, it'll pay dividends for the rest of your life. It's not the education that's stellar compared to a lot of other universities out there.
