Authoritarian regimes except maybe the ones in the third world would never tolerate what is happening in the west right now. Even shitholes like China are slowly becoming better places to live all the while democracy just causes standards of living to slowly devolve into third world status. 50 years from now quality of life will be better in China than in the west.
