Just saw the news today...newgens will never understand how good this guy was man, in his 2011 mvp season he was literally untouchable, i remember as a kid loading up 2k for the first time and playing as D rose, i fell in love with him from then on. He really is a 'what if' kinda player, because if he never got injured that game he wouldve stayed with the bulls, carried on progressing, they maybe wouldve built their roster around him, and he couldve guided chicago to their first chip since jordan. The finnesse this guy had on the ball, his ability to make space for himself and get to the basket, the aura he had surrounding him....it was something else. He was never the same after that injury but at least he had a few good games for the knicks and the grizzlies and played his career out as a role player off the bench.
I guess he'll always be remembered as the rose that never bloomed, as the D that never rose
