5 months ago, i started using retin a and niaciamide, had great success. 1.5 month ago, i added to many serums like copper, aha/bha peelings, dermaroller, vit c, gylcolic toner. I have now very flaky, dry and irritated skin.
What should i do? Just quit everything for 2 weeks, and then start again with retinA/nia only?

Just quit everything for a bit. You put too many 5AR inhibitors on your skin.

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME A YEAR AGO OP

USED PRETTY MUCH ALL THESE PRODUCTS

THEN I QUIT ALL SKINCARE APART FROM MOISTURISER AND SHOWERING

SUPPLEMENTED VIT C, D, K AND BETA CAROTENE

SKIN IS NOW GOD TIER

He doesn’t seems to be knowledgeable about the skincare and a lot of people seems to be blind ngl

He should use vitamin C in the morning
And glycolic acid 1-2 a week
And he should never use dermaroller because it destroy the skin he should probably invest in buying dermanator 2

It’s because you aren’t supposed to use retin-a and dermaroll at the same time - if you were going to get dermarolled professionally they tell you to quit retin-a a week before for a reason

Strip back to a simple routine of cleanse/moisturize/spf with retin-a at night (or maybe without the retin-a). Add new products very slowly, once at a time and wait a minimum of 2 weeks between

Second time i read that you can't use Retin-a and dermaroll, even though i read in guides that you can do. Who should i trust now ?

Don't dermaroll at all. It's a complete false economy.

I can't believe this site sorry. Not only because there has been hundreds of studies regarding dermarolling, but because it's litteraly an article to convince us to buy their products.

If it was a serious study, i would have agree but nop. It's a shop selling skin products.

Fair, they may have a vested interest but they're not wrong about dermarolling relying on physical trauma. Damaging your skin in order to stimulate collagen production may give good short-term results but I would seriously doubt its effectiveness long term. If you fall over and scrape your knee your body will heal and produce fresh skin to replace it, but its capacity to do this diminishes the more it happens.

It's also worth saying that the extant research is mainly around scar tissue not healthy skin. And there aren't any large controlled trials with extensive followup (to my knowledge), which is problematic.
