His thread actually generated an idea in me tbh that I was thinking about writing a thread about. The instinct in people to boast about their intelligence or wealth or status or whateverthefuck is imo rooted in a desire to display value to increase chances of successful mating. However it can easily backfire horribly because it makes you come off like an asshole i.e. socially incompetent. The reason why face is such a good SMV marker to have is because you can't not display it, its always there, there's no need to talk about it.

The kind of behavior you're talking about is a huge tell of insecurity. Lifeisgood is almost certainly like this too, I agree. One of my best friends was like this back in high school - not the quiet part, but super rude, interpreted almost everything as a social challenge, constantly bragging, toxic during vidya/games etc. He's mellowed out in recent years and a couple nights ago we were having what turned into a 5 hour talk and I ended up analyzing all his past social behavior and he agreed with everything I said and even had some introspection on why he was that way (it related back to his parents' divorce and how awfully his mom treated him).
For me personally the desire to brag about IQ I know for sure goes back to being poorly treated early on by my peers for being intelligent, so I coped by making it the central feature of my personality and acting like it has a ton of value. But a lightbulb has gone off lately that the smart thing to do is actually to downplay your hard intelligence and simply to display value by displaying competence.

then why do attractive guys who get carried by their eye areas still always have good lower thirds? dicaprio's lower third is far above average. you'll never see a guy with nice eyes and a melted birdcel nonexistent chin and jaw be considered attractive because of his eyes. on the other hand, guys like rami malek have the worst ugliest bug eyes in the world but still considered a sex symbol because of a giga jaw.
