Was this game a warning? Some sort of predictive programming? The conservative talk radio parody calls the U.S government a confused, transgender prostitute. An ad for changing genders at the dinner table is on the radio. Inflation is insane, people work 90 hour weeks according to the news. The entire plot of the game is centered around an illegal immigrant human trafficker who was busted smuggling migrants into Italy for NGOs. That same operation is owned by shadow government corporations, and you're literally tasked by a CIA equivalent to kill a user who connected the dots. It's just not where satire was at in 2008. They have an entire subplot about killing Israeli criminals and streets in Liberty City are named after executed Jewish spies.
