Not really but most companies do have criterias like this. Like they keep a criteria usually 60-70% for 12th for most software first companies. This was for Microsoft

1000168327

Apple had a much higher cutoff compared to other software companies. They asked for 80% in 12th.

1000168332

I can't find it now but I remember Okta and Meta also having a high cutoff.

There were also a couple of Investment banking firms and HFT firms looking for quant traders that only people above 95% and 9.5 cgpa could give the initial screening tests for. I couldn't appear for them because my CGPA was 8.8 then

I remember Goldman Sachs also had very high criteria for their risk assessment roles they came in multiple rounds to my uni. First it was 9.5 CGPA and 95% 12th

1000168341

And then they came back again to hire for their general software engineering roles and reduced it to 8 i think. Many people didn't apply tho.

No ours was the only one that got the highest. No firms visited BITS Dubai, and only 2-3 to Hyderabad and Goa and the rest of it all came to our campus. Our placements also overlapped with IIT Delhi placements

@Chadeep the conversion rate for quant firms for students from IIT Delhi was higher tho. Like they did come to our campus for the same roles with same CTC but their conversion rate was better. They also had more foreign placements but otherwise it was more or less the same
