They had a poor diet thats why modern germanics are like 2 or 3 inches taller on average than the germanics would have been during the roman empire

Not true at all tbh. It was recorded they ate raw milk and meat. And ofc they still do.

The point is not that the food they ate like raw milk and meat is bad, the point is they had not enough food, and they did not have a good variety of nutrients throughout the year. During the winter they would have many vitamin deficiencies because they couldnt get vegetables or fruits or really much of anything other than animal products. Milk and meat is good for development but its not all that you need. And they obviously didnt have enough because they were way smaller than they could have been with enough food

only the poorer peoples didn’t get enough. Even then it mogged the others. Calories isn’t the only important thing. And meat is really all you need. Fruit isn’t natural for Europeans to eat . Fruit only provides enzymes for digesting cooked meat. And some medicinal properties is small amounts. Same with vegetables. Their height would have been about the same probbaly. Or maybe taller in some tribes that has plenty animals

The calories they wanted could waily be obtained too. They could farm grain or eat forest vegetables. And no way they would need to have large amounts of calories more than they can get in the winter. The body isn’t supposed to want what it can’t get at all in any way. So why would processed garbage provide good things nowadays?. Animal foods can be high fat too. The most calorcly dense type of food is fat

Yes the richer people got enough but 99% of the people were poor so effectively the entire population except for those of a high class didnt have enough food. They just did not have enough food to grow fully, and this is the case for pretty much all europeans at the time. The romans, the greeks, the celts, the germanics. Also, modern fruits are not the best but the fruits they had were far different, with much less sugar and more nutrients. Same with the vegetables. The germanics were also somewhat nomadic and most did not farm until later. They had to eat what they could get and when they didnt have anything they couldnt get stored grains like a farmer could.

I am sure that the north europeans are better adapted for eating other things, but they still cannot get the nutrients they need from exclusively animal products. Also, obviously, the modern diet of processed foods is shit. The average man from back then would have been healthier for sure. The point is just that, while growing up, they did not have enough nutrients and so their growth was stunted. They were taller and bigger than the south europeans, just like today, because of their genetics, not their diet

This would be true if modern science was right. But tbh the sustainability and talks of how even the servents ate like the masters. How strong they were. And how most of the time the peasant class of Europe was the most recent state of the people who actually grew taller from becoming like the new western society makes me think otherwise. Very very much. It’s so much easier to get high calories from meat especially with the land they owned. There isn’t really any nutrients plants have that animal products don’t give.but what do you think they couldn’t get?.

Also, it lacks fiber, which isnt going to kill you, but it is a deficiency that can affect growth. Animal products are poor in potassium and other electrolytes although the salt from animal meat would usually be enough for that. You will get what you need but just a few select vitamins and minerals are lacking, which can lead to developmental issues. Although I am sure they faced less issues from their diet than modern europeans do from their shit diets with too many carbs and too much salt. I would imagine that their diets seemed to be sort of fancy or high class because, in south europe, meat was a rare and expensive commodity. But of course for the germanics it was just a regular item.

I’d argue vitamin c is useless for the most part but even then. Small berries have very high amounts like rosehip. This isn’t much a problem. And it’s very high in milk and liver. Which they loved.
Milk has more potassium than banana as naturally. And fibre is indigestible afaik. It’s like rocks that are used to sometimes grind food inside the digestive system .

But having only a small amount of organs to give you an essential vitamin will cause problems, especially any time when food is scarce. Fiber is also like you say not a digestable nutrient, but you still need it to facilitate processes in your digestive system.

Vitamin c is found in enough quantities of raw meat and milk afaik going off irl examples. Tbh. Bacteria is more important for digestion. It’s the main form of digestion along with stomach acid which is very acidic in humans just like vultures. And they would eat a decent amount of organs for nutrients. Most plant vitamins don’t digest due to anti nutrients unless you process them like juicing so I don’t think it’s much better the other way around tbh. And organs are the. Most dense food possible to give vitamins
