Difference between perma ban and delete account?

whats the difference between perma and delete? What is the best option?

Delete account is basically a name change rn

A permanent ban means you cannot come back unless you appeal. A deletion is when you self delete your account through the drop down menu on your name at the top of the screen.

Note that if you are perma banned you cannot just self delete to come back.

If you self delete your account, you need to wait three months in order to make a new one.
