if anyone red "Atomic habits" by James Clear (i recommend it) you would be familiar with the concept of how one's behavior aligns with their self-image and beliefs. and trying to do something that doesn't match with your own sense of self just will not work in the long run.
So really, in my opinion and experience, the way to "get disciplined" is not to focus on what actions you are doing, but to focus instead on changing your self-image and beliefs for the better, and the more disciplined and consistent positive actions/habits etc should follow afterwards.
for example, the wrong way to go about getting healthy is purposefully avoiding junk food and actively resisting every time you get a craving for it. This mental resistance will absolutely hose your motivation and even if you successfully eat healthy for a bit you'll eventually fall back into the void of bad habits. Instead, a much better way is to change your beliefs into an athlete/general healthy person who does not eat junk food and lives with other healthy habits (i am too lazy to write an actual concise/good essy but you understand my point). in that case, eating junk food won't be a problem since you won't even want to do so in the first place, as it contradicts with who you are. ditto, with other good habits and your life.
sorry that this was somewhat of a braindump, pick out what you like. hope this helps. loooooove yall.
