i was 15 at the time and i’d been boxing for a year, i was performing decently well for how long i’d been boxing but there was this one guy that i couldn’t catch up to no matter what.
he was always faster, stronger, better ring iq and always had more stamina than me.
did he train harder than me? did he have better habits outside of the boxing gym than me?
No.
this guy used to show up like 5 days out of the whole month and used out perform everyone there, whilst we were running laps he finished way quicker than the rest of us and kept up with the top guys that have been there since childhood. at the end of it he told me his staminas gotten worse since he’s been smoking so much weed
.
this was ropefuel for me, it confused me so hard that a guy that barely even shows up and doesn’t take this seriously at all could perform 10x better than me whilst i was showing up everyday taking it seriously and trying my hardest.
i was redpilled at the time so i made up some bullshit making him my enemy in my head and saying i’d work harder than ever to catch up to this guy.
tbf he was a very nice guy though we became friends.
