This is an account of how filler helped with my self image during the time period of having little to no money on any cosmetic procedures at all, and how I avoided the cons of the rumors circulating the matter as a young college student.
I've bought way too much filler for a single lifetime, but it's genuinely so cheap and accessible that women are administering it themselves on the daily. Not only is each syringe only $20-$40 but clinics will charge you around 1900% of that for each one while still ending up giving you extremely mediocre results that minimize risk of dissatisfaction in case of anything going wrong for their practice.
The fact that I could walk into a bathroom and walk out 30 minutes later with a 5x better looking face was astonishing to me and has given my past self a whole new perspective on life going out in public for the first time with my new face, and it was great no matter how ND I was regardless, but it doesn't matter.
Before the migration comments start coming, yes I was aware of the risks which is exactly where hyaluronidase comes in, essentially a filler dissolver enzyme that you inject into the areas containing any gel and allowing it to spread locally. I'd rinse and repeat this method every 3-4 months instead of the typical 6-12 out of fear of anything going wrong, but at the end of the day I can say I was very happy with the results, and not the type that you see on google with very minimal changes either. At some point I was increasing my "projection" of bones by entire inches especially in the lower third area due to most of the anchoring traits you have in your face being there. I was filler frauding so hard, my entire fwhr shifted in terms of perception which is supposedly one of the most difficult things to improve surgically. I had about 4ml in my chin for both height and projection, 1-2ml per side of each gonion for more of a "wider jaw", 2-3ml in each lateral which also increased the perceived height that they sat at, among all the other misc features I required a boost in to increase my facial harmony.
So in conclusion, the results I've gotten are similar to those you might see on mid sized implants in small bones, yes it's temporary, no it's not hard to do or have access to, and even with implants you will still most likely need to have some filler done to round the ridges off and achieve desired results regardless. I'd say that it's better to have gone down this route first before considering anything more invasive to give you a better idea of what would harmonize well for your face and what wouldn't. The best part? Nobody noticed anything or even mentioned it until my own mother saw me in person again and mentioned that I look like I got more mature and asked me about whether I had done something to my face or not, and of course I'm not going to say yes but fortunately she believed my story about bonesmashing which is complete cope anyways.
TLDR: Filler is the best cheap and simple alternative to take advantage of as a younger male who wishes for instant results without many repercussions as long as you learn your facial anatomy, harmony, and what suits your phenotype the most.
