Faggot Finn Mickenty said that djent was invented by Periphery, but he was probably paid to say that. Architects, Born of Oasis, After the Burial and Veil of Maya all predate Bulb and Periphery. I'm not a historian on this shit. I don't remember the first time I heard djent riffs, but it was from a long forgotten MySpace metalcore band.

Djent was the thing that killed metal, especially when Periphery came out. They came out in a post 2008 world were everyone was poor and these niggas had boutique fanned fret guitars, and ridiculously expensive amps, pedals and robotic production.
