Taking it directly before sleep is optimal, you will be at your coolest at the most annoying part of the day (trying to sleep) and the heat will peak over night.

Just supplement leucine or BCAA with meals to reduce muscle loss.
Even if you wanted to take something there are better compounds for that, clenbuterol would do it.
