Do braces do anything good?

I have an overbite, not a severe one but you can definitely tell i'm recessed from far away

Do braces do anything to fix the overbite? I've been told frequently that my front is noticeably better then my side because of my recession

I currently have braces and was wondering if it actually does anything? or should I just get a genioplasty

Bro do elastic bands with braces cause maxillary recession or other issues, I have an overbite and they ask me to wear em but I don't wanna take any risks. I wanna ask for a double jaw surgery or something but not sure if they would cover that here in Ontario. Thinking about just making up some symptoms jfl.
