Do braces really regress your face?

I've had braces for 10 months and just now I saw some videos saying that braces could regress your face if the method "Extract and retract" is used (Extract some teeth and pull back what remains), my orthodondonstist didn't use this method, but he didn't even use the recommended method "expand and protract" (palate expander and braces), he just put braces on me without removing teeth or expanding my palate(he sayed it wasn't needed), could this treatment regress my face?

Braces is the only thing for many that actually can change the face in a positive way. Much better then any nutrition could, but if you do class 2 elastics or some kind of weird rubberbands that retract teeth in a weird way, retractive facemask or extract and retract ortho then you can significantly fuck your face up.

But with normal braces where you only widen, uses elastics class 3, then you can make face better.

He used class 1 elastics in the frist 9 months then he placed Kobayashi hooks on my upper central incisor and on my lower lateral incisors to attach elastics, I asked google but this treatment doesn't classify in type 1,2 or 3

i think thats vertical incsiors. Its just to drag the teeth down. Which wont make a diff, but also having none closed mouth during elastics is extra harmful

Then what can fix a class 2 without elastics?(Besides jaw surgery)

Nothing, just means your lower jaw didnt keep up in growth, you could use class two elastics. But it could potentially move maxilla backward. Surgery or cope
