Do Fades or Long Sides Look Better?

For me, I feel like it's more beneficial, from a financial standpoint, to just grow you hair out because with faded you have to go the barber pretty often to retain them. Fades are also a hit or mis on men and only certain head shapes can fit them. Although its higher maintenance, I think long sides look better.

Learn to do tapers yourself and let the top half of the sides grow out, looks great and clean
