The ones that were involved in organised crime were the European ethncities that were deemed inferior by WASPs at the time they started to arrive in the US at the beginning of the 20th century.

Most notably Italians but also the Irish and Eastern European Slavs.

My father lived in the USA for years (on and off cause he never got a permanent stay) and he always mingled together with Germans and they were quite proud of there heritage.

But that was in the 80s so maybe nowadays its different.
