I think that would be closer to love but still not the same thing as a man who loves his child. Women have such an incredibly strong programming to protect their children and I suppose you could call that love. But women will ultimately still do whats best for them and not their children.

A good example is when my mother tells me what I should do with my life. I wanted to move away and learn and do new things in new places. But she said that I should stay in the same place I was born, the same place she lives, and that leaving was a bad idea, and that I should get a safe, boring job in an office. When I asked her why, she said that she would miss me and that she didn't want me to leave or do anything dangerous because it would make her worried. I appreciate that she wants to help me, but ultimately, instead of letting me do what I want, she wants me to do something I dont like because she would feel better about it. It all comes back to how she feels, not how I feel or what I want. If someone really loved their child, they would want them to do what they want.

A dad would say to his son, “I will miss you when you leave, but I know thats what will make you happy and I want you to do what you want”

Women cannot take a step back and examine things from other peoples perspective. I dont know how you could love someone if you only think about yourself and how you would feel in any given situation
