Do yall think it is a humans desire to torture other beings.

If so do you think humans like to torture other species or humans alike.

@Mainlander thoughts?

True, but do humans kill and torture for fun (no benefit), if given the chance?

Im not a professional or well educated so the following is pure RAMBLINGS

I think for actual gore or torture, all people (who arent wired abnormally) have a natural revulsion/disgust for it the same as anything else that triggers disgust, and people whose sense of disgust is perverted into pleasure usually early on in their development are going to have "bloodlust" in the sense that they enjoy something which naturally disgusts them. In this sense its a developmental aberration imo.

As for an actual desire to inflict harm or pain out of spite (you dont take pleasure out of some physical phenomenon like disgust, you take pleasure in another's pain) I think it might be much more natural. Not only do most people have some capacity for it (which means people who really enjoy torture are extremes, rather than outliers like people who enjoy disgust), but its more of a heritable personality trait (or so Ive heard). An extreme of this can be classified as unnatural or so and so, but realistically natural does not necessarily mean average or normal. If almost everyone in the human race has some desire for revenge or spite, extremes would likely pop up naturally without any kind of external factors or societal conditioning.

Im not educated on the topic though so alot of this is probably provably wrong or inaccurate

depends on the person
many human behaviours are driven by the desire to signal perceived superiority, before modernity people with power would often kill others for pretty much no reason

I used to often imagine murdering people, but I no longer do.

Very interesting take honeslty.

Idk if we have a revulsion for gore. Torture, possibly.

The reason whi I think that is because if we were natural, we'd have to hunt every week and gore wouldn't trigger disgust or horror, it would be just that, a bunch of organs or whatever.

This actually makes a lot of sense. You're basically saying that humans love asserting dominance and getting revenge which mostly matches every normal person.

Or it might be genetic that some people are wired to like it. But then question becomes why are they wired like that πŸ€”

Good response πŸ‘

All 8 billion people want to follow their natural path which is to kill other people, society has brainwashed us into thinking killing is bad

For no reason though. Like imagine youre full and satiated after a hunt. Would a person then want to torture them?

If there is a reason, then yes? Only if there aren't negative consquences for yourself.

But there is no reason. I feel like some humans love watching torture for the sake of it
