Over relying on lip balm to prevent dry lips can lead you to develop an addiction.

Your lips temporarily stop their natural production of oil over a long period of time because of external intervention with lip balm

I religiously used lip balm for over a year and half at this point. Great results for the first few months, but lately, lips have been feeling excessively dry despite reapplying lip balm every few hours.

I just quit lip balm cold turkey and will only apply it sparingly from now onwards

Just rub your lips when you’re in a warm shower to exfoliate.
If you’re on a retinoid, do that then apply emollient over.
Lip balm is buns.

Low iq thread, your lips don’t produce oil because they don’t have sebaceous glands. As long as you don’t use trash products that dry them out more your good.
