A year ago I was a bluepilled retard and thought skin-care would improve my already decent skin which you can see in the first picture, a year later as you can see in the second picture, after spending a year ruining my skin with cleansers, antibiotics, and retinoids including tretinoin, I've decended over two psl points on the basis of my skin. If you have skin that is already mostly clear or even have mild to moderate acne, please focus on improving lifestyle factors such as your diet, sleep-schedule, exercise, etc, which is the root cause of acne 95% of the time, before ruining your skin with non evidence based products, so you don't become suicidal like me. If you do have genetic based acne/oily skin, the only reliable treatment you should pressure a dermatologist into prescribing you is isotretinoin/accutane.

You didn't descned because of skin care but rather because of aging , getting more facial bone mass and cutting your hair and skin color change

Bro took an after picture with worse lighting and the same amount of pimples then proceeds to claim that all skincare is a scam. Absolute state of greycels

Skincare is a scam but this guy is not a good sample

Skincare absolutely fucked my perfect glass only-splash-water-in-the-morning skin

Adding a few basic skincare products transformed my dull flaky skin to looking model tier, seems like a skill issue if it makes your skin worse

That statement applies to you saying "skincare is a scam" as much as it does to what I said

Because I’ve seen a lot more people that use skincare with fucked up faces than I’ve seen the opposite

Lense distortion is probably why my bone structure looks different in the second picture since the camera was closer to my face tbh, skin color is the same too, the lighting is just different, also aging? Nigga, I'm 18, the pictures I showed are slightly less than a year apart, the main issue IS my skin, that's why I look older, also, Ive gotten sleep pilled in the last year too which hasn't helped that either.

That's because normies who get into skincare go from doing nothing to cleansing and using chemical exfoliants 5x a week which destroys the skin barrier, then they proceed to cry online about it while the majority of people who saw improvements don't feel the need to talk about it at all

I think this logic is massively flawed

I am still doing skincare because it is sort of an addiction now

But none the less, my skin looked 20 if not 50 times better back when I dgaf then it does now

Nothing changed then except your skin looks more reddish and yellow tan on the furst pic you were pale with no dark circles

I'm curious what you're doing and using to see worse results than before you started

What works for me is no chemical exfoliants, no hot showers

Manual exfoliation + cleanse 2x a week, retinol (or tret) 2x a week, non-zogged moisturizer every night and non-zogged spf moisturizer every morning

Only like three products total and it was a game changer

Also, OP did exactly what I described, he nuked his barrier with overcleansing and antibiotics (antibiotics for acne is the biggest skincare scam out there)

I used to use a lot of shit, especially at the beginning

I am now left with some acne scars on my cheeks but I believe what I’m doing right now is massively helping

I exfoliate with a salicic acid cleanser 3 times a day and I dry my face up after and use Cerave hydrating cream

At night I also use the cleanser but only put azelaic acid cream to brighten the acne redness and scars that I have left

I’m basically treating my face from the shit I did to it with a skincare routine

Even if you have oily skin, cleansing 3x a day is overkill and cerave has endocrine disrupters in it

Most skin-care products are bullshit with only a few being effective for the majority of people for treating acne vulgaris as well as other issues related to the skin, I could talk about this all day, I recently started accutane two weeks ago, and it's the best decision I've made in my life for my skin.

This would be a good moisturizer to start since it has such clean ingredients. I used this when I started and had good results, although the formulation is so simple I switched to a moisturizer with brightening ingredients and like it better.

I also use the cleanser from sebamed and don't plan on switching from it.

For exfoliation I just use rayon skin rags, they're course so I just lightly scrub my face after I put the cleanser on.

For sunscreen I just use LRP double repair, it does the job and isn't too shiny, but it's not tinted and doesn't have PA+++ so I'll probably try something else when it runs out.

The retinol I use Nature Well Retinol Cream, but I am planning on getting a script for tret soon, and the retinol comes in a tub which is ass. I've heard that skincare products that come in tubs get contaminated easily and its easy to get hairs and shit in them.

Accutane is the best skincare IMO, some people on here act like taking isotretinoin is worse than finasteride

You're correct I believe over-cleansing is what had the worst effect on my skin barrier as well as topical retinoids, oral antibiotics, and in my case, doxycycline which is what cleared my worst breakout, but also caused multiple other health issues for me, this first picture is three months of daily tretinoin .0025% and doxycycline usage while cleansing once a day, this second picture is what three months of over-cleansing did to my face which caused my worst breakout, and as you can see, my skin looks pretty bad in both photos.

Antibiotic treatment for acne is a total scam, I'm convinced that every dermatologist just prescribes it to new patients to make extra money.
