I think it's really safe to say that life exists out there. Even in our solar system, we could soon find life in places like the Jupiter moon Europa or the Saturn moon Enceladus. But these aliens won't be intelligent.

I believe intelligent alien life exists, too, but we were born too early to ever have contact with them. Maybe future generations will manage to get in contact with them. I still hope that some humans of our generation can survive with cryonics and live in another century, but I'm not holding my breath.

Tbh there could be an intelligent civilization just "down the road" in Alpha Centauri and we'd never know unless they started blasting all kinds of shit into space.

Considering that there are hundreds of billions of planets in the Milky Way, and hundreds of billions of other galaxies of similar size - then the idea that we are alone just seems absurd to me. Whether we ever make contact is another matter.

nothing preventing dinos from evolving high intelligence. there was in fact one candidate. yes mammals made it in 65 million years and dinos couldn't in hundreds of millions but the chance is there. if they figure out weapons and can pack hunt a trex it's giga dinner time. also no reason for an alien planet to develop in a similar fashion as Earth. they could easily not have enormous reptiles but flying poisonous sacks instead or whatever how will they get here? they won't. we'll send signals and they'll send back maybe. it'll take hundreds or potentially tens of thousands of years for one message
