Do you greet people you "half-know"?

For example you see someone every day because you live in the same street or whatever, do you greet them if you don't know who they are?


I usually do, like in the hallway and stuff and people usually say hi back, but the other day one old woman from my street just looked at me with her angry stare when I told her: "Hi!" and ignored me

She pissed me so fucking much, I cursed to myself that entire day and swore I am gonna look in the ground for the rest of my life
