Germany's economy was raped after world war 1, an uncounted number died from disease, starvation and poverty.
I honestly don't even know how they count the 6 million deaths when there are so many unknowns.

Indeed and I fully agree. The most plausible theory, to me, is that the majority of those who died in the camps indeed fell victim to typhus and starvation.
The allies carpet-bombed the crap out of Germany in 43/44/45, which destroyed all of the roads and infrastructure connected to those camps which in turn resulted in a lack of food supplies and terrible hygiene.

I think the Soviets invented the 6 million figure, probably as a cover-up for their crimes against humanity, which were FAR worse than anything the Nazi's ever did. That doesn't make the Nazi's the good guys of course, but still....

The Soviets also built the chimney at Auschwitz, after the war.

The 6M claim was never about 6M burnt in gas chambers.
Jews were exterminated through labor, died from starvation in ghettos, were killed by bullets (Babi Yar) / gaswagen, pogrom etc.
Auschwitz is something like 2M. A huge part, but not the whole thing.
