Typically a surgeon and an ortodontist work together. so the surgeon will reccomend the orthodontist

Nah they have a specific plan for the face depending on what surgery you are getting and how severe your condition is. If you want the best results in terms of jaw alignment then i would suggest to listen to the surgeon. You talking about jaw surgery right ?

i will be getting a lefort 2 i havent gotten braces yet but i was wondering if i should get them or talk t oa surgeon first

Nah in that case go with the whatever the surgeon says. He'll probably suggest what''s required. After your jaw is normal you will improve but won't look like a god. But if you do it correctly it will defo change your quality of life

You can also always do other surgeries after lefort 2 like genioplasty or smth
