I always get very sore with push ups, pull ups and squats so whats the point of lifting weights

some of my mates from wrestling were ripped and big with just push ups so whats the point of weights

You cant get ripped with push ups alone lol.
Its simple, if theres no progressive overload then you will hit a plateau and the muscle will not grow.

Bodyweight training will only get you so far, so then you have to somehow incorporate weight or do some crazy insanely tough exercises that make the muscle get more tension over time but usually promote injury.
