Do you think good looks are largely genetic? I'm starting to think not..

I used to think they way you look is just your genes. However, I have a lot of good looking people in my family , yet look how I am.

I would say that the good news is 70% is what you put into it. No one looks the way some of these people look naturally. Like with models, If you see their family members often times they are all average joes and plain janes. If the parents are good looking it is because they too work at their appearance. It comes down to diet and lifestyle. The face is only the canvas you can work with. We all know that having good facial features means nothing if you are overweight/ underweight, etc. It is true that when you're young you can put less effort into it, but even young people can be obese and have bad skin. I don't think youth always equated beauty either. I have seen some very beautiful middle aged women who trump young women in looks department.

Models are genetical anomalies.

Looks are 75-80% genes.

But not all models are even attractive. I wonder what modeling agencies are thinking some times. I guess I prefer the pretty girl next door look over the model.

genes are everything but environment can have impacts

in a 100% controlled situation genes = everything

A certain amount is inheritable but the rest is good development and just chance. Its probably similar to intelligence.

People forget how important environment is. Proper tongue posture, making sure your teeth CONNECT in a neutral position 24/7 and getting vital nutrients from a young age goes a long way in development

Good genes can produce bad offspring and vice versa, good genes just dramatically improve the chance to get good ones.
Ofc a big part of looks is environment and lifestyle, but for the most part it's genetic.

Genetics even affect your improvement efforts such as muscle building ability, how easy it's to lose fat and fat distribution.

Not everything is black and white bro. Not to mention, many chads have their looks partly due to the fact that they got adequate nutrition during their developmental years.

Its recombination. Take a look at models subhuman brothers

It’s cause ur fucking obese

Thank you for proving my point. No one in my family is obese (except some that have the more middle aged spread). But I was obese since I was 12, so it proves my point. Genetics didn't do much for me. I had thin as rail parents.

Just don’t mouthbreathe and sleep 9+ hrs from birth and rest genetics will do its thing

Genetics doesn’t cause obesity it’s because you’re eating like a fat ass.

Its 80% genetic 20% environment. Or 70-30. Ded srs

I would say 60% Genes and 40% environment.

ENVIRONMENT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.
THE CUMULATIVE EFFECTS OF MOUTHBREATHING, A SEDENTARY LIFESTYLE, BAD POSTURE, BAD DIET AND SLEEPING HABITS ARE UNDENIABLE.
YOU ONLY NEED THE CRANIOFACIAL RETRUSION OF MOUTHBREATHERS.
JFL ITS NOT EVEN UP FOR DEBATE

Sex and love is all about looks and looks are all about luck

Environment and self improvement could have made a 5'7 balding poorcel into a 6'1 NW1-2 on fin with good career

- good diet, mental health and lifestyle when growing up could have given you 4-5 inches of height extra
- being high IQ or street smart meant you would have jumped on fin when you saw yourself getting into NW2
- careermax

genetics mostly apply to super ugly guys or super short but for guys that are average, environment would have made them chadlite territory

Good looks are not in your genetics, so suck it faggot.
