- Don't admit PAWS (e.g. long term withdrawal from alcohol or drugs) is a thing despite countless addicts talking about it (my doctor dismissed my long-term alcohol anxiety (I was a heavy drinker for nearly 13 years) as nonsense and just put me on SSRIs).
- Lie constantly about drug side effects (e.g. antidepressants)
- Even when they admit it (or are forced to because of new research exposing earlier lies), they will gaslight you, telling you to not care, or they will try and downplay them (e.g. that weight gain is because of poor diet and not because of the drug I gave you).
- Mindlessly repeat lies that are considered the current 'in' thing e.g. suddenly gender identity is real and not a mental illness.
- Etc a million other things.
By far the worst in modern times is the gaslighting about SSRIs. It's been 4 months since I came of Lexapro and I STILL have ED and low libido. Some people never recover. I'm legitimately terrified that I may have fucked myself permanently. I feel less motivated in general as well.
Doctors are corrupt, oftentimes ignorant, and shouldn't be listened to unless unavoidable.
